After graduation I moved to Carolina Beach, went to work for E.I.DuPont and got married. I had two boys, Kevin and Dustin from my first wife. While at DuPont I continued my education, receiving a AS in Industrial Instrumentation technology from Cape Fear Community College, and also secured an Electrical Contractors license. I retired early from DuPont in 1986 and did absolutely nothing for 2 1/2 years except take my kids to school, 4 wheeling, boating , surfing, traveling and just enjoying life to the limit, then realizing I was going broke I started an electrical/instumentation contracting company. In 1991 I moved past self employment and moved from the coast to the Raleigh area and ultimately divorced my wife of 22 years. I starting working for the Instrument Society of America (ISA) managing their training labs and teaching instrumentation courses at the ISA Training Center in Research Triangle Park.
