Military
Colonel (Retired) David W. Ferguson was graduated from Autauga County High School, Prattville, Ala., in 1970. He attended Auburn University on a football scholarship and earned a bachelor of science degree in business administration in 1974, as well as a masterÂs degree in business administration from Central State University, Edmond, Okla., in 1985. He received his commission through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps program in 1975. He is a distinguished graduate of Squadron Officer School and finished in the top-third of his class at Air Command and Staff College. After graduation from the Air War College in residence, he attended the Advanced Management Program of the Information Resources Management College at National Defense University, where he was once again a distinguished graduate. He holds professional certifications as an Information Resources Management (IRM) professional and as a Retirement Housing Professional (RHP).
Just prior to his retirement from active duty in July 2001, Colonel Ferguson served as Chief, Training Division and Chief, Force Sustainment Division, Directorate of Personnel Force Development, Deputy Chief of Staff, Personnel, Headquarters United States Air Force. Before that he was the Senior Military Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness, Office of the Secretary of Defense.
