David's Story
My life
After graduation I worked in a numerous endless jobs for 1 1/2 years. Decided to start taking classes a MCCC in Jan. of 63. Transferred to EMU in 65 and graduated in Jan. of 68. This started me on a 37 1/2 year teaching career. Spent between the Cherry Hill and Wayne/Westland districts. I retired in 05. I met the love of my life at EMU, Diane and we wed in 1969. One son Michael born in 1983, current grad of U of M hoping to become an environmental lawyer.
Along the way I picked up 2 MAs and spent my time teaching as both a social studies and special ed teacher. Last 10 teaching Poli Sci, Psych, and Econ.

Diane is still working as a spec ed teacher in Wayne/Westland. Along with 2 friends they have just published their 2nd book for children. She is primarily responsible for the illustrations.
In 1975 we undertook our lifetime adventure. We purchased an empty barn which we converted into our home. Few broken bones, bruises, back pain etc but we now have a pretty unique dwelling. I'm the carpenter, she's the decorator, gardener etc. If I live long enough, we may get finished.
Since retirement I have become a dedicated house husband, volunteer with Habitat for Humanity and in 07 was elected to the Saline School Board. We have had an interesting year.
