David's Story
Life
Moved to Guam in early 1970 and attended Wettengel Elementary school in Dededo half of 5th and part of 6th grade, then went to St. John's rest of 6th and all 7th grade, then had to move back stateside to Indiana.
Went to Maple Crest Middle school beginning in the 8th grade, was in 8-1 with Mrs. David as homeroom teacher. Was at Haworth through my sophomore year, then our family moved in town and I had to finish HS at KHS, although I feel more like a Haworth student. I think it's rather ironic that KHS is now in the Haworth building.
Got married at 23, we had a girl in Dec. '85. Worked for Fouts Tire after graduation and left in July '94 to go back to college. Tried to get accepted in IU Physical Therapy program, but was denied on my first interview, and my grades slipped enough to take me out of consideration. Then got into IT field, worked for EDS as Delphi Help Desk agent, now I am a contract employee for Eli Lilly as a help desk agent, troubleshooting comp...Expand for more

I have been a road runner since 1984, and am still a member of Club Kokomo Roadrunners. My marathon PR is 2:48:00. I have had the pleasure of training with Gary Romesser for several years, he helped me to run my fastest race times right before I turned 40, and it helped me win a little cash here and there on the masters road race circuit.
However, the biggest joy in my life is my daughter, Elizabeth Gardner. She is now 16 years old, and a sophomore at Western HS. Over the years, she has sung at various events in and around Kokomo, the last big event she did was recording a Christmas song on one of the We Care Christmas song compilations, where lots of Kokomo musicians and singers also performed to benefit We Care. She doesn't do much singing nowadays, she's mostly playing her Fender Strat and being boy crazy!
My life has had it's ups and downs, but all in all, it's been pretty good. Hope everyone else's has been also.
