David's Story

Since 1983... Joined the US Air Force in 1985 as a firefighter, moved to Phoenix. Left Phoenix in 1989 for England and then to San Antonio in 1993. I left the Air Force in 1994 and moved back to Watertown, when I went Nursing School at SDSU. My wife Virginia (Goodyear) died in a car accident in 1996 and left me with two boys Tyler and David Jr.). In 1997 I moved to Brookings. Finished Nursing School in 2000, got married to my current wife Jennifer (from Whitewood) and moved to Boise, ID. I worked as an Ortho nurse for 2 years, got into home health for about 5 years, then joined the VA. I am currently the director of Home Care for the Boise VA and enjoy it a lot. he ID Army National Guard. I received my commission as an officer (Nurse) in 2004 and I was deployed to Lousianna for the Gulf Hurricanes. I retired from the military with 22 years of service in 2008. My oldest, Tyler is going on 27. He has a daughter named Surreal that is 8. Her and grampy spend a lot of time together. My youngest, David is 23. My wife has a daughter, Ashley who is 21 and a son, Austin who is 18. No kids together, just 4 dogs. We love to camp, fish, hunt and pretty much anything outdoors. And enjoy our Mexico vacations. At 46, I decided to get my masters in Health Administration. Still regretting that decision, but I am committed at this point. I get back to Watertown and Huron every year or two. Maybe I will run into someone.
