David's Story
Life
Hi! Jeanne & I are now living in the City of Benicia in the Bay Area of California. Moved here in October of 1999. We truly love it. This after over 35+ years living in Fairfield, Connecticut. I retired from SBC Communications (now AT&T) in January 2005.
Some of the fun things I have done since retiring have been to take race driver training in an Indianapolis race car at the Las Vegas International Speedway, getting up over 160 MPH; went to the Winter Olympics in Turino Italy (2006), what a great experience; and went on a seven day cruise in the Cariibbean; and finally becoming Giants fans and attending the games overlooking the bay.
My entire work life has been in advertising/media, telecommunications and information industries. And I still get a charge out of it. Over 15 years with GTE (now Verizon) and most of that in their headquarters when they were in Stamford Ct, and lastly over eight years with AT&T, the last 6 in SF.
Also owned a business providing on-line information services to businesses for another 15 years. But today happy to be retired in the San Francisco area.

of working in SF was to commute to and from the office on the high speed (40 knots+) ferry. Each evening in the Spring & Fall I would see the sun setting over the Golden Gate Bridge with the fog settling in on the mountains on either side. A sight that truly made commuting worth while.
Have three married sons and ten grandchildren in Connecticut, Nevada and San Jaquin Valley of CA.
Have taken up volunteering by teaching a Driver Safety Course for mature drivers. Do about 24 of them a year. It is fun, but it is scarry to think how litlle seniors know about how to drive, safety techniques, and the laws.
Love the Driver safety course and recommend that all of you take this 8 hour course in your area (it's nationwide), just check AARP.ORG website and click on the Family tab then look for the Driver Safety course. It will tell you where and when they are being given locally. In Ohio I think they are offered through a state sponsored program for seniors. In most other states they are sponsored by local groups, with AARP instructors.
