David's Story
David O. Moody "Class of 1971" "UPDATED"
I was one of the Music/Band "Nurds" during High School. After graduation I took college classes & worked a few years in my father's business as an all-around carpenter. In 1973 I went back to college full-time for a year as a Music Major; I was a keyboard major but I also played Tenor Sax and a little Guitar. I studied advanced piano; played woodwind instruments in several different school bands for about 8 or 9 years & I took guitar-classes at college for 2 years.
Obviously, Music is a life passion for me. Today, I have a $1K Guitar Stratocaster; a $1,400 12-String Electric Acoustic Ovation, a $3K Yamaha Jazz Tenor Sax, over $6K in Roland-Synthesizer Keyboard-Apparatus & with my various Mixer-board / P.A. Yamaha Organ & Marshal Rack of Guitar Speakers, Amplifiers, Microphones & Misc. Equipment which, probably, totals over $20 Grand. Nowdays, for the time being, I just treat music as a hobby.
I learned the various construction related trades over the years like foundations; electrical, plumbing, etc. and got my "General Contractor's License" back in 1985. I did some dabbling in contracting and worked in carpentry & supervision for different compa...Expand for more
nies until I took a government job in '93 with the Fullerton Joint Union School School District.
I recently retired (June, 2010) from the district because the state money dried up and keepiong the construction budugets down was getting rediculous. At least I have some retirement time built up with medical benefits & an Annuity & Social Security.
Currently, I'm not married and live in a two-story house near Lake Gregory in the San Bernardino mountains. I enjoy dating; attending concerts when I can & listening to my own broad scope of music recordings. I listen to everything from Bach to the Beatles but, mostly, I prefer Rock 'n' Roll.
I also take great interest in Art; Classic Movies, Scientific Discovery, Astronomy, Documentaries, Paleontology & Ancient History (To name a few). I visit my one brother but only one of my sisters from time to time (My only living immediate family); both of my parents are gone, now.
That pretty much sums-up (In general) my contributions since those glorious days of our care-free or should I say care-less youth in high school so I'll leave off on that note...
...May your life be filled with success & happiness!!!
