David's Story
Life
I graduated from Lompoc High in 1965. I went to Hancock College for one year and joined the Navy to see the world. I decided on becoming a Naval Photographer and that took me to Pensacola, Florida where I graduated from US Navy Schools of Photography. I was sent to DaNang, Viet Nam where I was stationed at Camp Tien Sha. It was a lusious green country but, hot and humid, like Florida. I had a lot close encounters with death. I got back home and was stationed aboard USS Kearsarge for 3 months. Then was stationed at Imperial Becach, California and when my tour was up was reassigned to USS Constellation were I left the navy. I worked for Minolta Camera Corportation and then Olympus Camera in Garden Grove, California. At this time I was married and have a son. I then was hired by Panavision in Sherman Oaks and Walt Disney Productions in camera service. Most employee's were laid off and I moved back to Lompoc and worked for Ford Aerospace with Lloyd Duval. o Scottsdale, Arizona. I moved to Dallas in 1989 and I have been living in Mesquite, Texas since. I looking back on my life it has been exciting and fun. Some of my job titles have been photographer, photo equipment repairman, quality assurance inpector, cine technician, field engineer, professional truck driver, and now insurance agent. I have learned that being versatile has kept my life fun and exciting. I have failed in marriages, but have found my loving wife at ballroom dancing, which I found fun and keeps your weight down. I lost my pet of 16 years Tom L White. He had a blue eye and a yellow eye with a pure white fur. He weighed 18 pounds and 36 inches long. He looked like a king of my neighborhood when laying on our green lawn. I have cameleon lizards as pets that keep insects down. I am a community leader for The Way a evanglizing around the world by Pope Benedict. I have been changed as a result of living the life christ had intended for everyone. I have also enjoyed working with children in sports as well as church.
