David's Story
I ended up with an ABD (all but dissertation) in economics at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I really liked Chapel Hill and UNC (go tarheals!). I put myself through grad school with part-time computer science jobs, so rather than going into economics I ended up in software development, and also ended up in Southern California rather than the Midwest. I enjoy living in Laguna Beach now, but miss the Midwest (except for those blah winter days just after all the...Expand for more

Until retirement, I was the Chief Technology Officer for a former division of Ticketmaster in Irvine, CA that provides the season ticketing for most pro sports and college athletic events. Now, I am becoming more active in local community issues, doing some software consulting, and volunteering for a few non-profit projects. It is also fun to watch the grandchildren grow up, but most of them live enough away to involve using some of those frequent flyer miles.
