David's Story
Life
In a nutshell, I spent 15 years invoved in stock car racing, driving in the Central Wisconsin, ARTGO, and ASA series. Got married at age 32 (almost 33), have two daughters, Julie, born 1986,and Jamie, born 1991. Have been employed at Allied Systems (JATCO) 29 yrs. Divorced since Jan., 2003.
Workplace
After terminating my college education, I went to work at a fiberglass fabrication plant and soon got into the pattern-making shop. I was there for about 5 years but the pay didn't keep up with jobs related to the local auto industry, so I got a job at JATCO. Been there since 1974. abricating race cars for Nielsen-Shear racing. In 1983,was offered a job at Kenny Bernstien's #26 Quaker State Nascar team, but was in love and stayed here and got married. I'm still at JATCO.
UPDATE April 30, 2010: Retired. Just made it past all the threshholds of being able to make the transition... age, years of service, getting past child support, etc., by only a few days, WOW!, Get along with the new boss fairly well, he's the guy I see in the mirror every morning. Once in a while he makes makes me mow the lawn instead of going hunting or fishing, or up to the cabin in Douglas County. Ah, you gotta humor him a little bit I guess.
