David's Story

Ok... what to write? Going into my teens, i had no idea what was in store for me. High school was fun... I often think about my friends, ROTC, football, summer camps, pep-rally's and the all the girls. But boy was i glad to get out of there in '83. After graduation, I joined the National Guard and went to UTSA. For some reason, that couldn't hold my interest and I joined the Navy and had a successful career in US Naval Nuclear Power Program aboard a ballistic missile submarine! Now that was a blast! During my enlistment in the Navy, I met my wife Lori in a bar one night in Orlando, and believe me, it was love at first sight. After i got out of the Navy, we lived in San Antonio, Austin, Georgetown, and Tyler. Along the way we picked up a small herd of horses and neither of us can imagine life without them. Although today we each still have horses, we do not have each other. Time does crazy things and Lori fell out of love with me. Our divorce as final on would have been our 20th anniversary. After my term in the Navy, i came back to Texas and finally got interested in school. Had a great time around Austin. In 1994 got involved in the motion picture industry. But unfortunately as lu...Expand for more
ck would have it, the industry in Texas dwindled. That left me with lots of time to combine work with pleasure by making corporate videos within the equine industry. In 2003 I shifted the focus of my production work to another of my passions... scuba diving. As a technical diver, it is not uncommon to find me several miles back inside an underwater cave or hundreds of feet deep on ancient shipwrecks. Combine that explorer attitude with a knack for shooting good video, and it wasn't long before I found myself working both sides of the camera on a TV show.! The Quest For Sunken Warships was a special series that aired on the Military Channel, and it was a BLAST to make. Currently I write for magazines, produce underwater documentaries, shoot expedition video and race as a Formula H2O racer.. Shows about my work with sharks are just around the corner on a series that is to be called "The Shark Whisperer." On it I'm working with a talented group of people including a wonderful lady and the love of my life - Dee McHenry. She is brilliant and I we have found a love in each other that few others get to experience. Life these days is good, and i can't wait to see what's in store for me and Dee.
