David's Story
Following high school, I knocked around for a few years playing guitar and living the life of a grasshopper, and what an enjoyable life it was!
But at age thirty-two, a random event occurred, and everything changed. A homeless man struggling behind a crammed-full shopping cart extended a palsied hand and asked for help. Thereafter, a single conviction obsessed me: this is what I would become!
To avoid this phantasm, I enrolled at Oregon State, and in a few years, earned a B.S and an M.S. in geology.
Fortunately for me, demand at this time for geologists was high and I found work with Unocal in California, developing reserves in the Santa Barbara Channel. During my career, I bounced back and forth between there and the San Joaquin Valley.

ppily retired, living in the country with my wife, Becky. After years of town living, crowded offices, and noisy drilling platforms, the semi-isolation and elbow room of California's coastal foothills foster contentment. Still, some nights, I dream that I've misplaced my shopping cart :)
Becky was a writer and magazine editor; she now quilts and beautifies the yard. I still practice the guitar, dabble in photography, and try to keep the trails mowed. We dote upon our dog and cat. Life is good :)
I often think of my school days, teachers, friends, and colleagues. I've seen several familiar names on Classmates, one who lived on my street, a few musical friends, even one that I fought with after school (can't now remember why).
