After leaving Ocean City High School, I moved to Port Salerno Florida for a year of college at Indian River College. I got a job pumping gas and changing tires and eventually got a job at a land surveying company drafting plans for them. The funny thing was, soon after I started working there the company was bought by an Architectural Firm based in Ocean City N.J. The same Architectural firm I had tried to work for while I was still living in N.J. Small world. One weekend I went to a local High School Dance with a friend. The band had nine members and was called the Funky JBs. They were quite good. However, they had no guitarist and I thought it would be fun to be part of their band. A couple of weeks later, I was playing my guitar in the living room of a friend and a black guy comes up to the window and peers in. He stood there for a bit, listening I guessed, and then disappeared. Shortly there was a knock on the door and we let this guy in.
