Dawn's Story
Life
I've lived outside of Howell for coming up to 30 years, and love it. We have 6 acres with lots of wildlife. Used to run a hobby farm in my younger days, but only have 2 spoiled indoor cats now. I've been working at Citizens Insurance as a Claims Rep for almost 3 years.
I married in 83', but he eventually decided he wanted a different life, so left in '94. The kids were 1, 4 and 6. But we got through it. Then, I remarried in '97 to a caring, committed stable man, and have celebrated 23 years together. He has become "dad" to my kids.
We now have 5 grandkids.
I've not done anything spectacular in the world of careers as I discovered, surprisingly, that I enjoyed being a mom! Who'da thunk. And surprise-I was ...Expand for more
quite satisfied with that!
I worked at a vet hospital, and from '87-'91, I tutored math and science at Wayne County Community College and taught a few math classes at Washtenaw Comm. Coll.
By 1991 I had 2 kids and moved to Howell, so I became a SAHM. I unwind with woodworking, remodeling, reading, being outside, quilting, playing in the dirt growing things. I like challenging myself to step out of my comfort zone. Went sky diving for my 50th birthday - was awesome!!
And the shy insecure little kid that I was, now enjoys dancing (jazz, tap, Latin,
swing), when health allows, and being in musicals through our community theatre.
If I can think of something "awesome and impressive", I'll add it later. LOL!
