Dawn Frye:  

I went to Sherwood Elementary the second thru fifth grades. My Dad worked for the federal government, so we moved a lot and I grew up living in 7 states. After finishing the 5th grade in Ms. Fowinkle's class, we moved to 3 states and moved back to Memphis my junior year in high school. My Dad worked for the Corps of Engineers downtown. It was SO nostalgic seeing people in high school that I had gone to elementary school with! I made new friends at Messick but the ones I knew before were special. Some good friends went to Overton. I hope to see them at this year's 50th reunion! After Messick, I worked full-time for a year downtown at Welcome Wagon, then went to Mid-South Bible College in Memphis and graduated with a BA Degree in 1970. The summer of 1968, I married Pete Frye, the absolute best choice of my life! We both worked on the campus of our college for several years, then moved to Dallas for Pete to attend Dallas Theological Seminary. I worked full-time at Baylor Medical Center while Pete was in school. Then in 1980, we adopted our precious daughter at one month old. That was another excellent choice!
