Dawn's Story

Wow! How do you sum up 40+ years...When you are 18, 40 years seems like forever and in a blink of an eye your children are grown and you wonder, where have the years gone. One of my favorite songs is "Don't Blink" by Kenny Chesney. Life is good...I married Jerry Schrepfer December of 1966 and we were married almost 18 years and have 2 wonderful children. Jerry was transferred with the Kroger Company in 1982 and we moved to Northern Kentucky. After five years living here we were divorced. My son Jeff was 17 and daughter Kim was 12. I met my husband Carl McHolland... we were married about 2 years after my divorce and we will celebrate our 23 anniversary April 25th. He is an architectural designer. He also has a son and daughter and 4 grandsons. Jeff, my son lives in Tokyo with his wife Ikuko and my three beautiful granddaughters. Miyu... almost 4 and twins Yuna and Emi 2 years old. Jeff is a successful merger and aquisition attorney for a large international law firm. He has lived in Tokyo since college and after meeting his wife moved back to San Francisco and attended Berkeley Boalt School of Law. He lived in San Francisco for about 6 years and worked at Morrison and Foerster Law Firm and then transferred to their Tokyo office. He speaks, reads and writes fluent Japanese. My daughter Kim lives in Montana on a 20 acre ranch "Red Top Ranch" has t...Expand for more
hree horses, 4 dogs (border collies and a black lab). She is a horse trainer in addition to working a full time job as a book-keeper for a propane company. I currently work for Quest Diagnostics (world leader in diagnostic testing). I am a training coordinator for Patient Services and love my job. It is very challenging and keeps me very busy. i have no plans on retiring any time soon. We just sold our home and moved into a condo and I love the freedom. In our spare time we like to travel. We just returned from Japan 2 weeks ago. My son Jeff and his family make one trip a year to the U.S. and in addition, we go to Japan or meet at a destination. We also visit my daughter Kim in Montana. Luckily I have 6 weeks of vacation time. I have three sisters 2 live in Michigan (Clarkston and Kalamazoo) and my youngest sister lives in Africa, but should be moving back to the U.S. soon. As many of you know my mom passed away when I was a sophomore in high school and my dad passed away in 1980 before we moved to Kentucky. At the time they were my parents and seemed "old", but I have now almost out lived both of their ages 42 and 60. I still miss them! Well, I have taken way to much of your time. Write back and tell me a little about your life. My best, Dawn Coffey McHolland Written 4/22/2009 Heal the Past.. Live the Present... Dream the Future...
