Dawn's Story
Well, slowly but surely I'm getting my profile set up! Here goes:
The very month after I graduated, I married a wonderful Navy man and moved half way across the world to this tiny little island called Guam. It was pretty cool - we did alot of snorkling, boony stomps (basically mountain hiking) and visited several waterfalls. We lived there for about 2 years, then moved to Washington state. What a beautiful place!! That is where our son, B.J. was born in 1990.
After our son was born, we decided that we wanted our children to grow up around their grandparents and since both sets of grandparents live in good ole Palatka, thats where we ended up AGAIN. Three and a half years later in 1993, our daughter Kaylyn was born.
Well, we now live in Interlachen and our only real hobbies are traveling and watching our children play sports. Both of our children are excellent 1st base players!!! Our son hit two home runs (all the way over the fence!) in one game this past year and one was a grand slam - bases loaded -game winning hit- the whole nine yards - WHAT A GAME!!!! Our daughter is following in his footsteps as an awesome softball player. Since our son graduated this past year (YEAH - don't I feel old!!!), it will definitly be strange not watching him play baseball - we've watch him every season since he was 4 years old. Now we a...Expand for more
re proudly watching him earn his own living as the young man we raised him to be.
The question and answer portion of this website doesn't really have alot of options. So - here are some of my own answers:
I was fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom until my children were out of elementary school, then I started working full-time at NEFEC in Palatka. I just cut back to working part-time a couple of years ago, which has been wonderful and it gives me the opportuntity to be home when they get out of school.
I love dogs! We have a Shi Tzu and a Beagle! Yeah -I know its a strange combination - but we love them just the same.
Amusement parks and comedy clubs are a must!!! Have you rode the roller coaster at Cedar Point? - oh my gosh - what a rush!
I'm still a country girl at heart. I don't get to do much of the county stuff any more - like fishing, staying at my grandparents camp, etc., but I could never be a city girl. We just got back from a trip to Las Vegas and although it was beautiful with all the lights and we did have fun - it just isn't the life for me. I hope to one day own a cabin in Tennessee and on a creek would be nice! Dreaming - but you never know!
Well, I didn't have too many friends in high school - I was mostly a loner - very shy. But I hope to hear from the ones that I did have! E-mail me. Love ya!
