Dawn's Story
Life
After graduating from Capitol Hill High School in 1982, I enrolled in South Oklahoma City Community College for awhile, got bored with that and dropped out. I then spent the next 7 years working as contract labor at Mike Monroney Aeronautical Center, assisting in the training of "Air Traffic Control Students", where I met a lot of great people from all over the world. I wandered around aimlessley through the US for a few years, then found myself back in Oklahoma. In 1989 I began working for the Hertz corporation, taking domestic reservations, before transfering into the Emergency Road Service Department. New Years Eve of 1991, I met my husband, (Chris). We dated for awhile, moved in together, the following Christmas our son "Derek" was born. We were married the following August. He brought his daughter "Heather" (now 17) from a previous marriage. urned to Oklahoma and bought a home in Lone Grove, (just outside of Ardmore), where Chris went to work for the State of Oklahoma, Department of Transportation--Inspecting bridges and overpasses and I went to work as assistant manager of a convienence store. We still own our property in Lone Grove, however we are currently living in Pauls Valley, where I manage a Mini Storage Yard, Chris commutes to Ardmore daily. Our daughter will graduate from high school next spring and our son will begin his 7th grade year in the fall of 2006 at Oklahoma School for the Deaf in Sulphur, OK. We basically have "no life"---married with children!!!!!!!!!! We travel whenever we get the chance. We have 1 dog-Rowdy, a blue heeler mix and a cat-Spazzo--his name needs no further explaination!! My husband and son enjoy buying "junk" cars/trucks and rebuilding them. My daughter enjoys shopping. I enjoy watching my kids grow up (and hopefully moving out of my house!!!!!!!!!!!)
