Dawn's Story
In my last year of high school, I lived on my own and worked a fulltime job. Probably didnt see me at any sporting events or hanging around in the halls.
About 3yrs ago I decided to change the way I feel and looked. I started spin classes at a local bike shop. Rode in the all womens Wed & Saturday local bike rides. First local long distance bike ride was Venus De Miles (all ladies benefit ride) in the Longmont area. Rode in the 65 mile route. Started riding in more local & National bike rides last year. Last year I rode the EMS National Bike ride on the East Coast (completed 385 miles of 545), EMS National Ride here in Denver (75 miles) Wild Goose Chase in NH...Expand for more
(Oct 2010) (65 miles). Joined the gym a year ago, on Dec 20, 2009. I have lost over 40+ LBS. I feel great. I have meet so many wonderful people along the way.
Life has changed for me in the last 8 months. Started off in July when I finally decided to leave my husband of 16yrs. Not long after that I reconnected with an high school friend and we have been exploring the world together. Was laid off from my job in November 3rd, 2010 after 15yrs. January 2011, had surgery which has taken me out of the gym & riding my bike for the last 4 weeks. Now its Feb 2011, I have started looking for a job and time to get my life back into a routine & find a place to call home.
