Dawna's Story
Oh where to start...
Currently I live in Los Angeles with my boyfriend, Albert, and our many pets. His has two sons from a previous marriage that spend half their time with us. I work as a Vendor Business Manager in the technology (software & hardware) industry. I'm currently going to school in the evenings part time for court reporting, which is by far the hardest thing I have ever attempted. It will be quite an accomplishment when I am finished, which will hopefully be in less than 2 years.
I left Massachusetts in 1991 to move to California with a girlfriend, Michele Caruso. People say I had a lot of guts moving to a city, never mind across the country, that I had never even visited. I always dreamed of living somewhere else than the small town I grew up in and Los Angeles seemed so exciting. She & I packed up my car and drove cross country, it was a great experience. We were lucky to find an apartment our 2nd day in town. Looking back now, I don't know what I was thinking -- thankfully everything worked out.

off and out of work. I ended up going back to Plympton to regroup. While visiting one of my best friends in Dallas, I was offered a job -- so I went back and packed up and moved to Dallas the following week -- another crazy move, but well worth it. I ended up staying in Dallas for 2 years when I got the urge to move back to California. My parents came to Dallas and helped me move back to California. We made the trip back with all my belongings in tow. I moved in with one of my best friends and was able to land a job quickly -- everything has a way of working its way out.
Though working in the technology industry is pretty lucrative, it is also a very volatile -- I have found myself laid off & out of work several times, it was definitely the hardest after 9/11. That was the time I decided I must find my self a career that is rarely affected by the economy, which is what brought me to the legal field. I know that once I do graduate and obtain my license, I will never have to worry again about a paycheck.
I try to live my life by the motto "Everything happens for a reason..."
