Dawna's Story
Life
After moving to Connecticut during my junior year (1987), surviving a very abusive relationship, and deciding that I was not cut out to be a "New Englander", I moved to Northern California in October 1990. I met my husband (Mark) in 1991, and married him in 1993. We had our first child in April 1997 (a son, Austin), and our second (and last) child in July 2000 (a daughter, Ashley). We all still live in (and love) Northern California and have no plans to move anywhere else.

In June of 2003, after realizing I was volunteering away more of my services than I was actually working, I decided to go back to work part-time, at the Blue Mountain Center for Meditation / Nilgiri Press. I started out as the "Shipping/Inventory Coordinator" (self-given title), and since then, have done Archiving, general admin support, and now am the IT Administrator. It is a very tranquil place to be, and I feel like I go to work to get some peace and quiet.
