DeAnna's Story

My story begins June 27, 1981. We had just graduated earlier in May and I had gotten an apartment downtown. On this special day, I met my next life of 34 years, Paul W Edwards. We moved to Arizona in August then to Texas in October, and married November 14th of that year. 2 years and 1 month later we were blessed with our first born child, Paul W Edwards jr., and 14 months later, our daughter, Amanda Dawn. The next 20 years we either lived in Madison or Midland Texas. We moved back and forth about 4 times. Finally in 1998 we moved back to Madison and stayed. Our children grew up and graduated from Madison, our school. Almost a year after graduation, we were blessed with our first grandchild. She was a New Year's baby and our pride and joy. We never knew how blessed we were until our granddaughter came into this world. 1 year and 11 months later we were blessed with our second granddaughter. Life was so grand. What more could we ever ask for? We had two wonderful kids that were our life, then adding 2 grandchildren that we could spoil rotten and who thought we were the best in the world. Life was great. In 2011 my world was shaken big time. February 4th at 8:30 in the morning, my stepmother called me at work to tell me that I lost my dad. He was my hero, my everything. I felt numb and just unable to function. I was told to go home, which was a good thing cuz I wouldn't had been able to accomplish anything. At noon I found out that we got our first house. So, God put something good into my horrible da...Expand for more
y. Then in November we celebrated our 30th anniversary in Gatlinburg TN. We had the best time of our whole marriage that one week. There were no kids/grandkids. Just the two of us acting like teenagers again. In May 2015 my life was shattered again. This time it was shattered into unrepairable little pieces. I lost my world, 3/4ths of my heart, my true love, my everything, my last 34 years, my husband. I was devastated. He was my prince, the kind of man that every girl dreams of when she is young. It took 28 years to get that way, but it was well worth the fight and wait. Before then, it was just time that made us stronger, and then the last 7 years was my reward for not killing him. hahahaha I don't think it was fair that I only got 7 years of the most perfect husband. I should had gotten as many years with this perfect husband as I had with the not-so-perfect husband. God brought me back to reality though and let me know there are tears and heartaches along with those smiles and laughter. Now, for the first time in my life, I am learning to live alone in life. It's me and my Sadie, whom is my boxer. We have done pretty good so far in the last 10 months. Winter got pretty hard, but Spring is here and it's time to get outside and enjoy it. Give me sunshine and warmth and I am happy. Now this is a short version of my life. It's all the spaces in-between the highlighted spots that maked my life wonderful, scary, happy, sad, confusing, dangerous, and any other kind of verb you want to put in there. :)
