DeWayne's Story
Life has been very blessed. I got married to my wife Toni in June of 1983. We had two wonderful boys, DeWayne Jr. and Jeffrey. I have been a minister in The Salvation Army since 1991. I am currently stationed in Pendleton, Oregon. I previously lived in Boise, Idaho - LaGrande, Oregon - Butte, Montana and then we dropped out and moved to Portland, Oregon where I worked at Nike World Headquarters for 5 years. I lost my son DeWayne Jr. one month before his 24th birthday when he was swept away by a wave off of the Jetty in Newport, Oregon on October 5, 2008. ry of The Salvation Army in 2009 in Centralia, Washington. We were stationed in Centralia for seven years then were transferred to Richland, Washington where we stayed for three years before moving to Pendleton. I love my granddaughters very much. They are 10 and 14 years old. We don't get to see them very often anymore because of the distance but we do get to face-time with them frequently.
I love the ministry very much. Serving the Lord is Awesome! It is great to be able to help so many people on a daily basis. I have been married for 37 years now and am looking forward to however many more the Lord will give me with my wonderful wife Toni.
