Dean's Story
After graduation from Alhambra High, I went to Cal State LA, then UCLA film school. I've been fortunate to be able to work in the industry I had hoped to enter. I've spent the last forty years as the Director of Photography on some fun movies, including the Back to the Future trilogy, Roger Rabbit, Jurassic Park, Apollo 13, and some old early ones: Halloween (the original), Escape from New York, The Thing. More recently, The Holiday, ...Expand for more
and Camp Rock.
I look back fondly at my high school days, playing in the band, and the friends I had, and often wonder where they are and what they are doing.
I always wanted to be a cinematographer when I grew up. My family thought that was a crazy, impossible idea. As it turns out, they were wrong. I'm glad I didn't listen. It's lead me down a path of adventure, travel, creative fun, and meeting some ver-r-r-ry interesting people.
