Dean's Story
One week after graduation, I was in navy boot camp. Worked with explosives, saw the pacific area, spent 2/12 years in the philippines. Got married and finished up my navy enlistment. Drove truck for 9 years, a couple of them cross country and then in the pacific northwest.I then entered law enforcement and was a deputy sheriff and deputy marshal in southern calif. Moved up to nothern Calif., where I was injuried on duty and retired. Moved to Oregon and became an Motor carrier enforcement officer for the state of Oregon. Got divoriced and went to Salt Lake City Utah for a year, and found a wonderful woman to whom I have been married to for the last eleven years. We then moved back to Oregon where we now reside.
I am now retired and enjoying grand kids and traveling. I have 2 grown children, 38 and 40 years old who live in southern Calif. I have three step children who are in their 30's...Expand for more
and 40's, together we have 12 grandkids.
We live in southern Oregon and travel with our 5th wheel trailer and just enjoy the things we missed when we had to work. I have only seen three people from high school since graduation, and that was 39 years ago. I do have email contact with a few friends from high school but thats about all. I enjoy being retired, but at times get bored, but my wife Marie finds things to keep me enterined, (yard work, house work, and anything else to keep me out of her hair).
My military time was 4 years in the navy, some time in viet nam, and then ten years after getting out I joined the air force reserves. I also went to college and got an AA degree in criminal justice. I enjoyed college much more than high school, which I am sure most people do. Other than that, I just kick back and enjoy watching the world go by. As Elmer Fudd said, " thats all folks"
