Dean's Story
Life
My wife (Billie Jean Johnson/SPHS 1965) and I entered the deferred retirement program (DROP) in the Florida State Retirement System in July/August 2000 respectively. I have since retired after 29 years, 8 months and two days with the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office (Detective since 1983) and the wife's 35 years with Pinellas County Schools as a Teacher. Billie Jean completed her 5 year DROP program as of May 19, 2005 and I competed mine June 30, 2005. We bought property in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado in 2000 to get away from the four "H's" of Florida (heat,humidity,hurricanes & humans). in October 2005. Our eldest son Brandon graduated from Barry University in 1999 and is living in Celebration, FL. He owns his own business "Teck Travel" and manages rental properties in St. Pete. Beach and Lake Tahoe along with acting in commercials...Brandon was married August 6, 2005 to his Swedish lady Jenny Nilsson in Sweden which we attended and they a son & daughter... Our youngest son Ryan graduated from USF in August 2004 and is now working as an Air Traffic Controller at Orlando's MCO Airport. Ryan married his special someone, Kristina Ramos, in Tampa November 16, 2007 and they have 3 daughters...Hope this finds all our ole' friends doing well. Take care and be safe....
