Deann's Story
I've been in Lakeland since 1979 when my husband Horry was stationed at McDill Air Force Base. We had been here before when he taught ROTC at Florida Southern College. We were in the Army for 23 years, we were stationed in several areas of the US and in Germany for three years where Horry was an officer at NATO. In April 2005, Horry died suddenly while dressing to go play golf. I have adjusted well, have a full, active life with very supportive friends...Expand for more
and family. I have a daughter here in town, a son in Atlanta, a son in Las Vegas, 4 grandaughters, ranging from 2nd grade to college sophomore. I have one grandson, who is a freshman at Lakeland High School. I play a lot of bridge, do a little traveling, and occasionally hear from old MDHS friends. I have many fond memories of my years at MDHS. In 2009 I married Buster Brown from the MDHS class of 55. Life has many unexpected turns. I am so blessed.
