Deanna's Story
Life
Where did she come from? Where did she go? After living my entire life in Mt. Vernon, OH my family moved to Pensacola, FL for my senior year. That ended up only being temporary and after graduation, we returned to Mt. Vernon where I majored in accounting at Mt. Vernon Nazarene College (BA 1983)and met my husband, Brent Taylor. I picked up an MBA (1984) at Miami University, then spent 2 more years there as an accounting instructor. Deciding not to pursue teaching, I became a CPA. ounting firm a year, I decided to cut back and stay home with my baby daughter. Fourteen years later I am still working part-time during the busy "tax" season preparing income tax returns for individuals and small businesses. We now have four children, preschooler to teenager,and raising them has developed into a busy and challenging assignment: Bethany (14), Grant (11), Amanda (8), and Blake (3). Brent is a software engineer. We are active in the Church of the Nazarene, where Brent plays bass guitar and I work with children.
