Life After Graduating from High School, I lived at home for 3 years working and going to Delta College. I have had the coolest jobs while going to college. I have been a Camp Counselor for a summer, worked at a movie theater, did my "time" in the fast food industry and I spent 2 summers working at Cedar Point. That was quite an experience. I decided to transfer all my credits to Western Michigan University after getting my Associated Degree. While going to WMU, I also worked a mini career in property management. Beginning as a Leasing Agent/Consultant to Property Manager to Accounting Assistant all with the same company. In the middle of that career, I put on the jets and concentrated on getting my degree instead of being a part-time student. I graduated from WMU with a Family Studies/Business Degree. While interning before graduation, I began to realize I didn't want to continue in the psychology field (family studies). I picked up a couple part-time jobs while working as a property manager. One was working for the US Postal Service. I did data entry work at a Remote Encoding Center. That closed down after 3 years of part-time work. In 2002, I decided that I had enough of Property Management. I was hired into Consumers Energy (at the bottom!) I read Gas and Electric Meters for 2 1/2 years, and then in the summer of 2005 I was finally promoted up the Gas Dept. as a Gas Lines Utility Worker. Yep, I am working with the guys. I think there are 3 women in a dept. of 25 men. I've proved myself to be as tuff as the guys...Expand for more
