Deavon's Story
School - Helix High School.
My high school goal: to stop being shy, to try to make friends. I met Rich in Coach Feeser's history class, and we've been best friends and partners since 1960. Hey, THANKS, Mr. Feeser!!! Thanks to Carol P. (for making that sexy Hawaiian spaghetti-strap dress for me to wear at the dance), Sherry P. (for making me laugh at the Senior Dinner and always), Beverly H. (for being my pal and introducing me to "the world"), Becky (for making gym fun), Linda W. (for T'weeds and pinto pair classes), and to Rich (for loving me, and for being patient while I grew up).

chology. This was the first time I ever lived on my own, did exactly what I wanted to do. It was the fourth best thing I've ever done. I loved the campus, the cool people I met, the mind-expansion of living on my own, but most of all, coming completely out of my shell, learning to express my OWN views unabashedly, and living my dream of being able to graduate! And I was 48 at the time!!! It's never too late to pursue your dreams!

P.S. I decided to go to a reunion (this was before I returned to college). A guy there told me (with some amount of anger) that I was stuck up during high school. I guess he never heard of anyone being painfully shy. That was my last reunion. To that guy: thanks a lot, a-hole.
