Deb's Story
Life
I'm currently living in north Idaho with my significant other of 10+ years, Phil, and our two cats. We've been here for over 2 years and love it, having moved here from California (San Francisco Bay Area). Our lives revolve around outdoor activities and creative pursuits. In 1997 we thru-hiked the entire Appalachian Trail, then spent 5 months trekking and traveling in Central and South America. In 2000 we paddled the Yukon River (2,000 miles starting in British Columbia, across Alaska, to the Bering Sea). exico to Canada. We also enjoy winter sports here - snowshoeing and skiing. When we aren't off an adventure we are hiking and paddling in the mountains and lakes near our home.
Workplace
After a brief stint as a lab technician doing water analysis at the Academy of Natural Sciences in Philadelphia, I've been in environemntal consulting. First with a large international firm (ERM) in their PA and CA offices, then I was self employed for a short while, and now I work for a very small, specialized environmental firm. I telecommute from my home office and have the flexibility of being able to take time off to travel every few years.
