Debbi's Story
Hi there. I married fellow classmate, Joe Hooyman, in 1980 while he was in medical school at Mayo in Rochester, Minnesota. While he was in school, I worked as a legal secretary/paralegal. In 1983 we moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, for a year where Joe did a rotating internship. Our first son, Bryan, was born while we were in Milwaukee. We then moved back to Rochester for 4 years where Joe did his residency in radiology. Our second son, Andrew, was born in Rochester. We then moved to Waterloo, Iowa, for 17 1/2 years. mom and was very involved at the boys' school. We are now living in La Crosse, Wisconsin, and absolutely love it. We love to bike and hike and from our house we have access to many trails in the bluffs of La Crosse and within 45 minutes of our house there are 6 bike trails. I love to photograph wildlife, birds in particular, and being on a major migration route has given me many opportunities to take some spectaular pictures.We now have a 2 year old grandson who is the joy of our lives. We are looking forward to retirement to pursue our biggest passion - travel.
