More about Debbie:"THIS YEAR IS GONNA BE THE YEAR THAT EVERYTHING CHANGES - KEEP YOUR EYE ON THE PRIZE!!
I am still alive after many attempts by various medical conditions to wipe me out. I have grown to be someone who takes everything that gets thrown at them with the prospect of finding a solution to every problem. I give more than I receive and enjoy it being that way. Fighting for what you believe...Expand for more
in is the reason I am still here and I guess the will to live too.
I received my third kidney transplant in November 2006 and I am doing as much as I can whilst I have this wonderful gift. Currently I am trying to organise a National Event to be called Rock for Renal Failure to raise awareness about kidney disease, the need for organ donors and the fact that there is no cure. I am a member of the Southport Kidney Fund the registered charity, not the 'other' Southport Kidney Unit fund which is not, and probably will never be a registered charity.
This year alone I have helped organise a record label event, completed the Princes Trust Team programme and organised my own music event SKF Acoustica in aid of the Southport Kidney Fund and again awareness etc.
Basically, I love my husband and my step kids (yes, all of them....), my friends are my most precious find and my new life with my new kidney is my most precious gift I could have been given. I miss all the friends I have lost to my condition and remember every single one of them with a smile.
I am happy and proud to be me.".
