Debbie's Story
Life
Where do I begin? I married Jay McNeill in 1978. I worked at Columbia Records when I moved out to California with a member of a local motorcycle club. I stayed there for about 5 years, did ALOT of things, so Jay divorced me. Came home and went back to work at Columbia House and did nothing but work and party all the time. I worked at DADC when I got my GED and married my second husband, I divorced him and moved to Tennessee with my third husband, where I am now, but going through another divorce. I shall marry not again. For those of you that know me, my brother Melvin and I were adopted. We were not biological siblings. I was reunited with my biological family in 1998. From this meeting, I met my brother Billy. From that meeting, I inherited two children, that I've had now for 11 years. Alana 14, and Mike 13. Is a long story, but I'm their mom, and I love them with everything I have. My Mom passed away in 2001, three days after I moved back to Terre Haute to be with her, then my Dad passed 3 months later. Then, 6 months later, Melvin died. If you want to know about Melvin, just ask...I only have 2910 characters left to do this bio. Now I live in the country, on the bluff, in Tennessee. I stay home, collecting that monthly check, taking care of my young-uns. I've straightened up for the most part...I'm just an old Hippie Chick, sittin on my front porch, in my rockin chair, with my corn-cob pipe...you know the drill. Anyway...ya'll can find me on Myspace. My user name is Dirty White Trailer Trash Hippie Chick. ...Expand for more
There is alot of pictures, and my kids, and proof that life is better out of Terre Haute.
School
My biggest crush was Jay McNeill. Although my Mom always wanted me to marry Jay Morris. If there was a teacher that inspired me, I would have to say it was my typing teacher Mrs. Box. I think she hated me, I wasn't much on her, but Typing was the only subject I did well in, and when I was kicked out of school...I went to work in the School Administration Office, helping type a grant, and ended up working as a secretary, which is what I wanted to be when I grew up. Mr. Gardner was cool, he was really 'in touch' with the students. If I could do it all over again, I believe I would have studied harder, and stayed in school. I can't think of any funny, happy and crazy memories, I was too bad to remember anything.
Workplace
I've worked somewhere all my life. Mostly as a secretary/transcriptionist for Columbia House, DADC, Katherine Hamilton, and the Sewage Billing Office. I was also an exotic dancer for about ten years, dancing from California, to Indiana, to Florida. (I was rich). I've worked construction, vinyl siding and gutter installation. Now, I work a couple days a week at a scrapyard that my closest friends own. My main career now, is being retired. I'm on disability, because the government finally realized how flipping crazy I really am.
Military
I went into the Army National Guard, in 1980, and came out in 1981. I still have an authority problem.
