Debbie's Story
Who am I? Well on Feb. 20th 2008 I will be a 40 year old mother of one and hoping to add to my family this year. Wow! Am I really going to be that old? I suppose so. A lot has happend to me since graduating high school. I have been at the same job for almost 21 years. Yes that is a long time but I really love my job. I never went to college and sometimes regret that decision but am happy where I am in my life right now.
I have been married to my wonderful husband Mark for 4 years. He is such a dedacated husband and father and I am forever grateful that he is in my life.
The biggest change that has happend to me in the last 10 years is that I almost passes away. To make a very long story short I had Bacterial Infective Endocarditis and it almost ended my life. I was in the hospital when a piece of bacteria that was growing on my heart valve broke off and went to my brain and caused a mycotic aneurysm to burst which cause me to have a stroke. rain sugery which turned out great but the next day my mitral valve collapsed and just two days later I needed to have emergency heart surgery. I was in the hospital for two months and had to learn how to do everything all over again. I now have a walking disability which is hard at times but I am so blessed to be alive that the disabilty is the least of my problems. My parents said I was given the last rites twice so needless to say I gave my parents just a little scare. I was 29 when this happened. I believe God works in mysterious ways and never gives us something we can't handle. I would never have met my husband if I didn't get sick so you can say good things do come from bad things.
I still believe I am a pretty nice person. I still have friends since I was 5 years old and I love making new friends. Friends are part of the rainbow of life. I know this is a long story so if any of my old high school friends would like to contact me. I would love to hear from you.
Ciao,
Debbie
