Debbie's Story
After graduation I started working to save a little money. I moved to Chico to work and continue my education. My mom passed away just after I turned 21, which was a real blow since she was only 48.
My brother, Scott, and his wife, Charlene, and their two children also live in Chico...so it is nice to get together on holidays, etc. My dad, Vic (86 yrs. old!), is also in Chico and I visit him once a week.
I still reside in Chico and married Richard (8/23/86) and we have three beautiful children; Alyssa, Kelsey, & Logan. My oldest daughter, Alyssa, graduated from UC, Santa Barbara June 2011 and is now getting her masters degree in London. It was very hard to let her go, but we are excited for her future. Kelsey is 19 and almost finished with her sophomore year at Oregon State, and Logan is 16 and just finished up his sophomore year in high school. ames. My last job was working for 10 years in administration at CSU, Chico, but I quit working when my third child was born (16 years ago) so I could be there for my family.
I enjoy working out to stay in shape (and to get rid of stress!), I love running (but my left knee stops me), gardening, going to our Tahoe cabin, boating, skiing, snowmobiling, camping, hiking, traveling (we have been to Hawaii, Cancun, Alaska, England, Scotland, Rome, Ireland and are going to England and Switzerland this summer), singing in my church choir, eating desserts (especially chocolate!), attending my kids' sporting events and activities, watching movies, playing with my two dogs (Lady & Tank) and my chinchilla (Rico), and hanging out with my family and friends. WHAT CAN I SAY...LIFE IS GOOD!!
It would be GREAT to hear from some of you. I can't believe that I only moved to Chico, but hardly see anyone I grew up with in Paradise!! Until then.....
