Debbie's Story
Life
My husband and I, and our three kids live in Northern Virginia, in the suburbs outside the Washington DC beltway.
I am a nurse, in the last several years a lactation consultant working a few hours a week at two local hospitals, one of which has a birth rate of over 10,700 babies a year, Whew! That keeps me running at work. I have also run a weekly breastfeeding moms group for many years.
My husband is an aerospace engineer(USNA'77), retired Navy after 20 years. Specializing in the area of advanced concepts space based systems, he works with related companies and agencies in and around the DC area.
Our daughter is in college in the area, majoring in international government and political systems. In high school she was very studious, debate team captain and such. Yes, thankfully she took after her dad that way! She was also a thespian. We enjoyed many plays over the years with her acting ie; "Puck" in "A Midsummers Night's Dream" at the Folger Shakespeare Theater in DC, ...and directing ie; she won a regional award for her directing of the play "Flowers for Algernon". A delightful young lady.

r middle kid/son is a runner. We really enjoyed going to XC and track meets to watch him and his team run. A high school "All American", he was also the state champion for Virginia AAA Cross Country in 2003. He was then recruited to run for the University of Tenn. Go to the Un of Tenn website and find cross country or track and field rosters and see his profile and picture.
Our youngest son will be in high school this fall. We enjoy going to his concerts and watching him play the trumpet. He immulates his big brother in some ways, ie; as a Boy Scout, a runner, and a paintball warrior. He is a bright and fun kid.
My elderly parents lived in Jax all these years in the same house and we visited them a couple times a year. I can accomplish much long-distance eldercare from here thanks to cell phones, computers, and faxes. I was very saddened by Daddy's failing health and lost vitality, he died last October. My mother is in long term care now.
I have enjoyed reading the bios that are posted on this website. I hope more classmates will write about their life and families.
