Multiple Myeloma OBITUARY Debra Denise Peterson 25 JUNE, 1951 – 16 JULY, 2021 Obituary of Debra Denise Peterson IN THE CARE OF Ahlberg Funeral Chapel Debra Denise Peterson passed away Friday, July 16, 2021 at her home in Loveland, Colorado surrounded by her family. She was 70. She was born June 25, 1951 to Maxine and Norman (Blake) Gourley in Superior, Nebraska and moved to Longmont when she was 2 years old. Debra attended Columbine Elementary and Longmont High School where she played the accordion in school. She was a waitress for 13 years, graduated from Sharon and Duran’s School of Cosmetology in 1984 and worked as a Cosmetologist at JCPenney’s Salon within the Twin Peaks Mall for 8 years and later worked in the catalog department, as well as the jewelry department. She later went on to work at King Soopers in 1992, in the bakery department for 25 years until her retirement in 2017. Debra loved her family, grandkids and great-grandkids. She was a member of the Longmont Moose Lodge #1548, where she loved to meet and hang out with her friends as well as meet new people. Debra loved to go to NHRA Racing and Sprint Car races. She loved going to Vegas and Central City with her friends from the Moose Lodge. In fact, Debra met her fiancé Darryl “Lee” Barker at the Moose Lodge and they traveled together all over. They both loved riding freely on his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Debra also loved to sew, crochet blankets and dolls, bake, and was very creative. hen she saw her family the most. Debra was very beautiful, incredibly kind, fiercely independent and an undeniably strong woman. Life didn't always show her the easy or fair road, but she was tough as nails and would hold her head up high and push through anything that tried to knock her down, always coming back with a tougher punch and still standing. She was so giving and very soft hearted once you got to know her. She is survived by her son Jackie Dale Mosco, Jr. and his wife Lisa Mosco of Longmont, CO; daughter Schellie Stevens and her husband Chad Stevens of Loveland, CO; sister Lynda Tassler and a nephew James Tassler of Logan Lane; 10 Grandchildren; Wesley and wife Lindsey Mosco of Firestone CO; Lyssa Mosco of Greeley, CO; Samantha Jo Mosco of Longmont, CO; Michael Mosco and Amber Lund of Mead, CO; Ryan and Lydia Mosco from Hickman, NE; Aryon and Brook Mosco from Lincoln, NE; Austin Topham from Lincoln NE. Michaela Thyfault and Cody Hegwood of Loveland, CO; Randi Thyfault of Loveland, CO; Jacob Thyfault of Loveland, CO; 16 Great-grandchildren; Ashlynn, Delaney, Riley, Haiden, Mckenzie, Erich, Noah, Michael Jr, Tobias, Amelia, Layton, Breighdon, (+New Announced Baby Boy), Shaylynn, Jaxsun and Colton. Preceded in death by husband Darryl “Lee” Barker, mother Maxine and father Norman (Blake) Gourley, grandparents James and Florence Bailey, aunts Phyllis Gourley Hobelman, Elizabeth Yerton, Arthur and Cora Gourley, Lonnie, Dale, Val Dean Gourley, Dora May and Jeannine Gourley and numerous cousins, brother and sister-in-laws.
