Update 2019
Life is better today. Went to 50th Reunion last week. We are so lucky to be here, not everyone made it.
Update 2009:
It's been a year & a half since I became a widow after almost 40 yrs. It's been a rough road but I have started a new life (I hope). I have a new home in Enchanted Forest (Harmony Hills), working on getting Disability so I wont' have to work so hard anymore.
I have recently "hooked-up" with an old friend from college and let me tell you I had no idea you could have this much fun at almost 60!
Update 2008:
Death
Things have changed in 3 years lots of people have gone from my life brother-in-law(2005), brother(2006) and husband(2008). But I have had 4 grandchildren.
Also am not working but may go back to school (think positive thoughts for me on that).
Carrying on my husband's work with opiate users with NAMA and TexNAMA.
Death does not knock, but instead creeps in the deep dark night and kidnaps you in surprise.
2005 Life
Wish I did have a brand new chopper, if you do call me up and let's go for a ride!
I've been working as Production Manager for American Classifieds (formerly Thrifty Nickel) for last 8 years but recently left to find something less stressful that doesn't require working 16-20 hour days every week.
I've been married si...Expand for more
nce 1974 and have 2 grown children, my daughter is married, lives in Dallas, teaches bi-lingal education, and has a baby girl. My son is in the Army and stationed at Ft. Aberdeen in MD. He doesn't care much for the cold and they want to send him to Ft. Drum in NY by the Canadian border where the hottest it's ever been is about 85 and that was a record!
Anyone wanting to go and shoot pool, have a brew (or a Southern Comfort), or a burger at the Bun 'n Barrel. Look me up, I'm game!
School
Rember those care free days when graduating seniors could get away with almost anything, except long hair!
Skipping was a prime activity for some of us and lunch on Austin Hwy sure beat the cafeteria (think I ate there once).
Remember the Senior Prom of '69? Flash played, who knew Chris (would become an Academy (or was it Grammy) winner and write a song for a hit movie? Not me, I left the prom for the Anti-Prom in the Sunken Gardens where we really let our hair down! Hanging out at the Sunken Gardens was some of the best times I knew every back trail in that place too bad the city has let it fall into disrepair.
Seems we had a pretty successful bunch in our class, Chris, Ponce, Susan Yerkes, to name but a few.
Unfortunately I wasn't one of them but hey - I'm still hanging in there!
