Debbie's Story
Graduated from Uof E with BS in Nursing in 1973. Passed boards and got married that same year. Began working on Surgical Floor at Welborn. Became "Head Nurse" on medical surgical floor in 1974.
Moved to Dallas, Tx with husband's job in 1975. When had time off, husband and I played on traveling softball and bowling teams. Texas in the 70's was great fun.
Divorced in 1981 and moved back to Evansville in 1983 due to family illness.
Worked at St Mary's Medical Center in Surgical Intensive Care and Open Heart Recovery for 7 ...Expand for more
years then got my Certification in Case Management and set up office in my home covering Southern Indiana and Western Ky. 5 years later company I was contracted with moved to Ohio and I returned to hospital nursing
Have always loved traveling. Have visited 40 out of 50 states, Hawaii, Mexico, Canada, and Europe.
Continued to work in hospitals and home health agencies until this past February when my knees wore out and couldn't have surgery on them d/t blood dyscrasia. Retired on Disability now and loving all my free time.
