Debbie's Story
Life
After high school I attended Univ of Oregon for 2 years then transferred to Warner Pacific College where I majored in Music Education. There I met my husband and we were married a year after graduation. I worked at Freightliner for 3 1/2 years. Then after our daughter was born, I just worked off and on part-time at various office type jobs.
Four children later, enjoying PTA, Girls Scouts and Boy Scouts for a season, I began serving as Librarian at Crossroads Christian School in Portland where our children attended. ian. I have also taught Career Ed, Choir and Music History/Theory there.
As" the economy turned south" I was one of the first teachers to be released from my teaching assignments. (the school has now closed.) My husband and I signed up with Wycliffe Associates and went down to Oaxaca Christian School in Oaxaca, Mexico to teach. We also house-sat for some missionaries while they were away in the village or to the U.S. Another trip was 3 weeks to Costa Rica. We met new friends and renewed some former acquaintances. This year (2012/13) we hope to spend some of the winter in Tucson, AZ.
Who knows what the future holds? It's been a good journey so far. How about you?
