Debbie's Story
Life.....
I guess I'll start after graduation. In Aug. 1970, I got a job with the
C&O Rwy.(Now CSXT) I was hired as a steno, so I could use my skills from the Office Block at Whitmer. That didn't last long. I went from doing typing and shorthand to driving trucks, janitor work, switch operator, just to mention a few. I still work at CSX and am currently the daytime bridge operator on the last railroad bridge over the Maumee river before you get into the lake. So when you all go through the bridge in your yachts, give me a yell. See Update Below.
I got married in 1971, had 2 girls, and unfortunately the marriage didn't work out and got divorced in 1978. After hopefully working things out, we remarried in Feb. 1981 and had another little girl in Nov. 1981. It didn't work out the second time either and we divorced again in 1985.
I met my present husband at work and we married in 1999. We owned a couple of Harleys and put 50,000 miles on them touring the USA. We also owned a biker leather store for 6 years. We decided to sell the store and the Harley 4 1/2 years ago. Since we had never had an accident on the bike, we were afraid to tempt fate. So we stopped rid...Expand for more
ing while we were still in one piece.
I have 3 daughters, 1 stepdaughter and 4 grandchildren. My husband bought me a goldendoodle puppy for Valentine's Day in 2007 and we got another one this year (2009), so I am busy spoiling my dogs. See Update Below.
Well, that's pretty much it. Not very exciting, huh?

Update- Feb. 2013 - I retired from CSX on July 25, 2012 at age 60 after 42 years service. We now have 3 goldendoodles. We moved to a ranch home on Fairgreen (Still in Whitmer District) in November 2012. Hope to start traveling in our 5th wheel as soon as the weather warms up.
Update-April 7, 2016 - I gained another grandson on November 20, 2015, so now I have 5 grandkids. I also am a full time babysitter now. LOL Well, the 5th wheel didn't work out traveling with three large dogs, so last week we bought a Winnebago RV. We'll be heading out the end of May for a short trip with the other grandkids. That's pretty much it for now.
UPDATE 4/30/20 - Two of my goldendoodles had to be put down in 2019, which broke my heart. It was a really hard loss for me. We got another one last May, so I still have 2.
