Debbie's Story

Well, Here goes...I am married and live in Kentucky with my husband of 24 years-Jeff, my two daughters- Stacy(23)and Alicia(2o), our crazy dog-Loki, our ancient cat-Callie, and a bunch of tropical fish. We moved to this area 22 years ago when my husband was transferred. It was a hard adjustment (let's face it-LA to Kentucky- talk about culture shock!!) but this has become home. I work in the medical field. I have been working in Women's Health for over 16 years and LOVE it. I get very involved with my patients and am always the last one to leave the office. My only regret is that I didn't go back to school and become a provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant) The doctor's I work with constantly nag me to do so, but I am too set in my ways to go back to school now. I am married to a wonderful man, Jeff. We have the kind of marriage that our kids, friends and co-workers tease us about. We get along great and rarely ever argue. Actually-we never had a fight until we got a dog. (Did I mention he's crazy??) He takes 40mg of prozac daily. (The dog, not my husband.) Jeff is very in to Disc Golf and we have traveled around quite a bit for tourniments. We even went to the Bahama's 2 years ago to play. It keeps us active and he earns enough cash to keep us in spending money. I like to play, but only casually, and never before 9 in the morning or in bad weather. He does both and I cheerfully wish him a good time. My oldest daughter works at the same hospital that I work at and lives at home. She is totally self sufficient but has NO desire to move out any time soon. As long as she pays her own way we ...Expand for more
don't mind her living here. She is so quiet that sometimes we forget she still lives here. My younger daughter is currently in college and is pursueing an art degree. She is interested in the Japanese animation style (anime) and has her own website, web-comic, and travels around to anime conventions with her sister selling her art. She also lives at home and has NO desire to move out. (I keep telling my husband that we must have done something wrong). They are both WONDERFUL girls and have never given us any trouble. I would like to take the credit but they have always been great. My friends tease me that I am way too cool to have such square kids...I can't talk them into doing anything crazy. I have made so many wonderful friends here and enjoy a well rounded social life. I am very lucky to have lots of laughter in my life. There is a joke here that if there is a party or function you don't need to ask if I'll be there. The answer is always YES! I run my poor husband in circles. I enjoy reading, dancing, concerts, playing cards, camping, travelling, or just getting together to party. I am in a book club that gets together every few weeks and sometimes we even discuss the book. (we usually end up sitting around, drinking wine, and talking about sex). I also play on a softball team every Sunday. My co workers tease me about my moans and groans every Monday with my aching muscles. I am very interested to see what everyone has done since High School and really regret that I didn't keep in touch with the friends who helped me survive my teen years. Hope this finds everyone Healthy and Happy ... ......
