Debby's Story
My husband and I live in Pasadena CA. In the last five years we've spent a lot of time traveling around the world as a result of his work and we love it! We've been to Alaska, British Columbia, Sweden, London, Holland, Norway, Mexico, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, Austria, France, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Michigan, (Mackinaw Island), Wisconsin, Illinois, New York, Washington State, Arizona,Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Hawaii, Colorado, Oregon, Utah, and Idaho My favorite was Holland.
I work in the healthcare system and have twenty-nine volunteers who work with me. They are all over seventy years and older and are the most incredible individuals I've ever met. Everyday's an adventure!
My best friend would tell you I'm very caring and compassionate, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as quiet and shy.
What would I do differently? I never would have gotten married the first time around (Big Mistake) AND would have gone on to become an Olympic Swim Team Coach.
I would have worked overtime building my self esteem and confidence. I would have spent more time laughing, dancing, drawing and being creative.
My...Expand for more
biggest regret is not being able to spend more time being a mother. My children needed a full time mother, but that just wasn't possible.
Childhood memory I'll never forget? Winning my first medal in swimmimg, rollerskating to swim team practice and twrilling a fire baton - WOW!
How do I blow off steam? Summertime-Strawberry magaritasssssssssss, Winter Time-waliking in the rain. I also love working in my garden and designing things.
My hero is Zorro. "NEVER FIGHT WHEN YOU'RE MAD" Lesson learned the hard way...
My favorite Movie of all time and my inspiration and strength is "A Women of Substance." I only wish I would have seen it when I was younger and learned the lessons then.
The only obsession I have is JUSTICE!!!
If I won $100 million, I'd take care of my family, give to the homeless, and spend the rest on an Island, a plane (so my grandchildren can be with us in a heartbeat), some horses ,dogs and cats and a lot of Margarita mix!. Oh, and an easel, so I could spend my days paining.
I Have some incredible grandchildren who have taught me that everything is new and special and that it's so easy to love "TO INFINITY AND BEYOND."
