Debi's Story
Life
In March of 2005 I married another 68 classmate, Victor (Michael) Garcia-we 'met' at the 35 year reunion picnic. We are living in Cameron Park. Between us we have three sons...we have a 2 1/2 year old grandson, Derek and another grandson, Zachary, due the end of April 09.
I retired January 2006 after having been employed at SEARCH Group, Inc. (criminal justice research and technical assistance for law enforcement agencies) since 1979.
Mid 2006 we purchased a small sandwich/ice cream shop inside the Marshall Gold Discovery State Historic Park in Coloma. What was I thinking? I sat on my butt for all of my work years and this requires being on your feet! The shop is now up for sale and I will have happy feet and buns when it sells.

College
The complete name of the school, at that time, was Patricia Stevens Career College and Finishing School. We had to wear gloves and hats everyday! Along with my line of study, Fashion Merchandising and Retailing, we were required to take courses in Social Graces, Makeup, Visual Poise, Personality, Warerobe and Voice...we even did some fencing! It was a 9 month course but I was not 'finished' until 1 1/2 years later. It was just was not resonable to throw me into Los Angeles at 17 and expect a smooth and uneventful outcome. I recall that one of the younger teachers took a group of us to see Bo Diddly perform...and, appropriately enough, her name was Miss Rock.
Some years later I attended Consumnes for probably a semester. I took bookkeeping (and surprise...Paul Connelly was in the same class. I remember him putting tacks in my chair in high school, fortunately he outgrew that.), some woman's lib class, business english and badminton. I got an A in the badminton, and failed the women's lib...go figure!
