Debi's Story
Life
I finished high school at a private school in 1976, started college twice but never finished because of marriage & kids...I have 3 sons, 31, 28, and 26; two are married, and I now have 3 grandkids.
My husband was killed in a truck rollover in 1994, leaving me to raise my 3 boys alone. That was the toughest thing I ever had to do; but it taught me that I can do anything that I set my mind to.
I went back to college in Sept. 2000, taking classes with students who were the same age as my own kids. I was worried that I wouldn't be accepted, but everyone was great! I earned my AA degree in Business in 2003, transferred to Metro State that fall, and earned my BS in Finance in December 2006.

Every summer I work at the Greeley Stampede as a wrangler. I work with the night shows crew--what a blast! It's a lot of hard work, but I get to see all the shows from either backstage or up on the roof when I run a spotlight. I don't get to meet many artists, but I work pretty closely with their road crews and managers. Most of those guys are a kick! And when the lights go up and the crowd goes wild, it's a great feeling knowing that I was part of making that happen.
Update 4/2009: I am engaged, and will get married again sometime this summer.
Update 9/2009: I got married on Sept 8th in a spontaneous moment (not that spontaneous--John and I have been together for almost 3 years) and are looking forward to spoiling our grandkids and growing old together...
