Deborah's Story
Hi Guys, a lot has happened since high school. I married right after high school, had a beautiful daughter. That marriage didn't work out so we divorced. I remarried a year later, had another beautiful daughter. We were married for 34 years. We traveled with his job to, Cincinnati, OH, Minneapolis, Mn, Charlotte, NC, Knoxville, TN and finally to New Orleans, LA, I had taken some college courses in Minneapolis when my girls were young. Then when my youngest graduated from High School I went back full time. I attended Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond LA and graduated with honors in 1995. I immediately started teaching at Covington High School and became the Art department head. I taught there for 10 years. During my tenure my husband and I divorced. I bought a house in Covington. Then Katrina hit New Orleans. I evacuated to my sisters house in Oklahoma. Couldn't go back for a month and when I did it was to massive amounts of devastation. Both of my now married daughters lost their homes, one rebuilt, the other...Expand for more
moved to La Fayette, GA I was lucky I only lost my car in the storm. After I returned I put my house on the market and while I was selling my house and preparing to never be in a hurricane situation again I meet my current husband, he is a telecom engineer. He is very supportive and we are very happy together. We moved to Oklahoma and bought a lake house in the northeast corner on Grand Lake. Then we went to Denver for a year with his job. Got to scale the Rockies and saw beautiful sites. The next move was to Morristown, New Jersey about 30 miles due west of New York City. David was raised in New York City and has enjoyed showing me the sites. We have a website McOwen dot com and I have a personal website for my artwork and painting business touchedbycolor dot com check them out to see what we have been up to. Another move in 2009 to Chicago, Il, lived there for 4 years, Then as luck would have it David got transferred to Indianapolis. We now live in an apartment off of Georgetown Road. Right back were I started from.
