Deb's Story
Life
Hey, Long time no see to most of you. It is 2003, my oldest daughter graduated from GJHS in 2001, although she got a full-ride to CSU she came home to MSC after 1 year! My youngest daughter will be a junior at GJHS. I have been married for the past 21 years to the same person. Although I went to college to become a nurse, I decided that it wasn't my cup of tea, so then I went back to become a teacher, I did some subbing, but that didn't pay the bills. So about 14 years ago I started a lawn care service business, and that has been great, I no longer substitute teach (maybe I'll start again when I get old!) My husband joined me in the business about 5 years ago and it has been great!
It is now 2008 - man have the years flown by. Still in business, still in the same house -finally paid for. Both daughters have graduated from high school and one from college. She is a Spanish teacher and loves to travel, especially to Central and South America. The youngest daughter just got married this summer. I have been able to reconnect with a few old friends since I joined, but not as many as I would like to. My husband and I began to do a little vacationing and traveling. In 2006 we went to the Hawaiian Islands, Oahu, Hawaii, Maui and Kaui (sp?). We traveled with my cousin and his wife - 4 islands, 8 airplanes, 1 helicopter, 13 days and 12 nights. It was wonderful. Then in 2007 we treated our daughters and their boyfriends to a...Expand for more
week in Mexico. We stayed at a private residence called Nax Alux on Soloman Bay which is near Tulum (90 k south of Cancun). Our oldest daughter and her boyfriend flew to Mexico 10 days earlier than the rest of us, and they trecked inland and south. Then they joined us, our daughter being our interpretor for the trip. If anyone ever visits there, I definitely recommend the place we stayed. It was perfect. My husband and I are getting ready to visit south Florida and the Bahama's soon, and next year (2009) for his 50th birthday, we are planning on going to Alaska - both he and Alaska joined the union in 1959. hahahah
In 2007, I took up pheasant hunting and shooting clays. Still not too good, but at least I now get to go with the dog! Previously, I would go and walk along side my husband and just work the dog for him. Now I get to do it for me as well, she is still getting used to the idea that there are 2 of us hunting and shooting - but she has never let a bird get away, she is a 3 1/2 year old yellow lab and she has replaced my girls as the "baby" in my life. And as with all living creatures, when they get to be a little past the baby stage, she has became a "daddy's girl."
November 2008 - Recently a friend invited me to join facebook. It has been so much fun. Reconnecting with people I knew back in school, and friends of friends who have became "online" friends. I have not smiled so much in years. you should check it out!
