Deborah's Story
Life
Greetings to all!!!
Right after High school I had a few odd jobs and then went to nursing School. I have been in Nursing now for 21 yrs. I am Currently working for the Federal Gov. at the Veterans Outpatient Clinic in Knox. I wasted 5 yrs in a relationship that never went anywhere and then I met my Husband Joe Newcomb, who also grad. in 1978 but from Bearden. (he transferred to Bearden his Junior yr., he actually was raised in the Farragut school system) Joe and I of course still throw off on each others schools. I had a miscarriage the first year of our marriage and was never able to get pregnant again even with many attempts with Fertility work-ups. In 1996 we took MAPP classes at the Department of Human Services to try to Foster/Adopt some babies. Soon afterwards they called us needing placement for a 23 month old girl and her 5 month old brother. We fostered for a little over a year before we could adopt and then their Mother gave birth to another little baby boy whom we also began to foster. (in the state of TN you have to foster for a year before you can adopt) We waited 1 more year till the 3rd child was available for ad...Expand for more
option and then adopted all 3. Our family is now complete. Heather Michelle age 7, Brandon Wesley age 6 and Kevin Andrew age 5. I would take a slew more children and just recently asked my husband if we could foster again and he said yes if I win at least a 10 millon dollar lotto. Oh well, at least I tried. Joe works midnights and keeps the kids during the day. The youngest starts Kindergarden this year and he will finally be releived of his duty as Daycare worker and he does not want to go back to keeping kids again. (I can't blame him) I am very blessed to have a wonderful husband and 3 beautiful children. I have more than I ever thought I would have, which may not be much to some. We attend church regular and Owe God for everything that we have. I would love to hear from anyone who wants to E-Mail.
07/23/08 Still at the Veterans Clinic 11yrs now.
Kids are 11, 12 and 14. Going to my husbands 30 class reunion for Farragut class of 1978 next week end (Aug 2) Wondering if the Karns High School Class of 1978 had a thirty year reunion. I didn't hear anything about it. Would still love to communicate with anyone from Karns or other......
