Deborah J.'s Story

Life Well since I started Hi. school at Chief Sealth, I came to Rainer Beach in my junior year and only attended off and on until spring of my Sr. year. I was in the Interchange program there at the Beach. I married my sweetheart from Sealth Kenny Williams,we had 2 boys and a girl! We were really into our music, the church, raising a family, his passing was in 87. Then my 2nd marriage not so good but two great sons came from it. I moved around allot for the experiences and the education. I always will be that Boheimian spirit!!! Lost touch with most people from High school. We were heavy into our lives . My last baby is now 26! I have over 10 grand kids! I am still into my art drawing and sketching , some fabric stuff, bead work, gardening, spiritual but not in to religion, just being an old hippie. I kept moving away for yrs. at a time, but always headed back to the Seattle area. Evan though I am married now 2 years, in Florida now, for almost 2 years. I go home there to visit , fishing, camping and just hanging out with friends and family quite a bit. I just got back from a great, trip in Washington and Colorado School Some of my craziest school memories from Rainer beach are the protests we did, storming the principals office after the bathrooms were shut down, I5 being shut down, from class protest, and getting called into the principals office for over hearing, I was doing bomb threats on my time off ( it was just a joke some one heard in the office) I was just the regular bra, burning , peace loving, hippie girl lol. Well I was friends with a few people from the Seattle liberation front. My biggest crushes -Gary Smedrude, Kenny Williams, Jim Thomisser, Jeff Tuttle, Ellis Makos,...Expand for more
Rick Wade. I think as far as teachers , Leaf (from the Beach Interchange) He probably saved my life on Mt. Rainer one time, during a real awfull field trip, with the Interchange kids (I was trippin! ) All the kids from the interchange would remember that trip. Wish I could forget that experience! College I went back to get my G.E.D. at the Seattle Indian Center after I turned forty. By the time I moved to Bremerton and got to go college I was 41 . I was busy raising my family, being a single Super Mom and was a CNA for quite a few years before, but wanted to work with D.D. children. I took early child hood development, at Olympia College, did a internship at the C.P.S office there. Then back to the Indian Center to work with kids for a while. I moved back to Seattle to continuing working in the health field ,working with the home bound and continuing my education in that field.Last job in Salkum/Mosseyrock wa. for 3 yrs or so and then back to Renton Yippie!!! I am now have kinda retired, to get out of the city was great though! I am continuing my education and always reading, learning in my field and other more spiritual interests. Well to add to all that in the last few years have met a great guy and deccide to try marriage again and my big dream of moving to a more tropical place to live. We were crazy with the the idea!!!! We sold everything and moved what we thought we needed in a truck and boat and moved to Jacksonville Florida. I miss family and friends, but it has been a life changing experience. Ive always been kinda a gypsy and always moving ,but this was the ultimate move!!!! Florida is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
